Peggy Hall Thompson

Peggy Hall Thompson passed away on Tuesday, November 10, 2020 at Twin Lakes Coble Creek Healthcare after a lengthy illness and 2 weeks with the COVID virus.

She was born in Alamance County to the late Eva Tickle and Javey Hall and was married to the late Ronald Eugene Thompson.
Peggy retired from the Alamance County School System. She attended Grove Park Baptist Church and was actively involved in the Special Needs Ministry’ she was a faithful volunteer worker. Peggy also volunteered with and participated in the ARC of Alamance County and Carolina Learning and Living Center of Pittsboro.


After suffering a stroke several years ago, Peggy has resided in skilled nursing. Peggy thrived in this environment always with a positive attitude, cooperative spirit without complaining and always brave and strong. Many happy and joyful times were spent with family and friends inside and outside the facilities. She especially enjoyed sitting outside in the sunshine greeting family and visitors alike, going out to eat, playing bingo and mingling with residents and visitors.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Edgewood Place Healthcare, who affectionately called Peggy “One One” and Twin Lakes Coble Creek Healthcare for the kindnesses shown, compassionate care and understanding provided to our sister and to her family.

Left to forever cherish her memory are son, David Thompson of Pittsboro; sisters, Judy Harrell and husband Bobby, Kay Andrews and Ellen Andrews and husband Bobby all of Burlington; niece Patricia Prudhomme, nephews Eric Harrell and Bob Andrews; grandchildren Des Beckom, Chandler Beckom and LillieHope Beckom; special aunts Ruby Simmons and Wonnie Collins; very special and faithful friends to the end Lisa Roney and Priscilla Carter. Along with her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a daughter, Tammy Thompson Powers.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, November 13 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Marc Sanders and Rev. Roger Roach. The service will be live streamed on the Lowe Funeral Home website. Mrs. Thompson will be available for viewing 1:00 to 5:00 Thursday and 9:00 to 10:45 on Friday. Masks and social distancing are required.
