Mrs. Mildred Bare Ross
BURLINGTON — Mrs. Mildred Bare Ross , 80, of 2416 Parrish Street, died Saturday, August 13, 2005, at her residence.
A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of 57 years to the late William "Bill" Franklin Ross Jr. She was the daughter of the late Wilson "Ned" Bare and Della Allred Bare .
Mrs. Ross was a member of Davis Street United Methodist Church, where she was also a member of the Builders Sunday school class, and the Women’s Guild. She was a former member of the Burlington Women’s Club and the Burlington Exchangettes Club. While her children were in school she stayed very active with the PTA.
She is survived be four daughters, Mrs. Wanda Gail Ross Stancil and her husband Russell of Raleigh, Ms. Tara Lynn Ross of Burlington, Mrs. Billie Ross Alberts and her husband Mark of Glenview, Ill., Mrs. Amber Ross Myers and her husband Peter, of Raleigh; three sons, William Franklin Ross III of Burlington, Robert Franklin Ross of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., and Jeffrey Ned Ross and his wife Christine of Fairfax, Va. Her grandchildren include John R. Stancil Jr., William Callie Stancil and his wife Britt, William Alexander Ross , Lily Kathryn Myers, William Kirk Alberts and Natalie Renee Alberts. She is also survived by a great grandchild John R. Stancill III, and a sister Mrs. Maxine Bare Anthony. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews and loved ones including Stacy Whitfield, Nathan and Jacob Wood.
She was predeceased by a sister, Belva Hanford Jones and two brothers, Vernell "Sally" Bare and Burman Bare .
A funeral service celebrating her life will be held at Davis Street United Methodist Church at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 17, 2005. Burial will follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The service will be conducted by the Rev. Jerry Dodson, pastor.
The family will receive friends at the Rich and Thompson Mortuary in Burlington from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday. At other times they will be at the residence.
