Reva Hensley Goodwin 80, passed away peacefully at home on September 8, 2026. She was born on September 9, 1945, and raised in Ossipee, North Carolina by her loving parents the late Vernon & Ruth Hensley. Reva was a hard worker who dedicated many years to Stadler’s Country Ham & to Heads Inc. Following her lifelong passion for cosmetics and helping others look and feel their best, she attended and graduated from the cosmetology program at Alamance Community College. Her deep love for cosmetics then lead her to many dedicated years as a Mary Kay Consultant. Outside of work Reva’s greatest joy was her family, along with her love for the beach. She cherished countless trips to the NC coast specifically enjoying the sands and waters at Atlantic beach in Morehead city. She also loved Magic Kingdom, oh the joy it brought her, she said it always made her feel like a child again. She enjoyed several trips with her granddaughter, son and great grandson Declan in recent years. He was the light of her world. They spent hours and hours playing and Declan telling grandmaw what to do. She loved to hear him talk and watch him grow. The bond they shared is something that can never be replaced but will always be remembered. She loved to laugh, pick and play and goodness her feistiness and humor will sure be missed! She was preceded in death by her beloved unborn son Rodney Lynn Goodwin, Jerry Hensley her beloved brother, Thomas (Tommy) Goodwin who held her heart dearly and oh the joyous reunion they had as she entered the Gates of Heaven. Reva is survived by her devoted and loving son Vernon Goodwin of Greensboro; her granddaughters Lindsey Goodwin (Lucas Lowery), Amanda Monday (Zack Monday) & Jennifer Robertson, loving brother Jack Hensley (Joyce Hensley) & sister Glenda Barker, sister-in-law Nancy Hensley and greatgrandsons Declan Lowery, Jaxson & Ashton Monday, nieces & nephews Dawn Burrows, Lisa Hensley, Tony & Brenda Hensley, Sid & Annette Barker, and many extended family members and loving friends. A visitation for family and friends will be held Friday September 11th from 5-7 pm & a Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, September 12th at 3pm both at Rich & Thompson Funeral Home, 306 Glenwood Avenue, Burlington NC.
