William Rogers ‘Bill’ Compton Sr.
William Rogers “Bill” Compton, Sr., 69, formerly of Graham, died Friday, January 22, 2016 at Alamance Health Care Center in Burlington, surrounded by his family.
Mr. Compton was born in Guilford County and was the son of the late William Branson Compton and the late Sara Rogers Compton.
Mr. Compton was a printer at US Label Corporation in Greensboro.
He was a lifelong member of Graham Presbyterian Church.
He was a graduate of Graham High School, Class of 1965, and attended Frederick College in Virginia. He enjoyed visiting with his grandchildren, wildlife, and gardening.
Survivors include: his son, William Rogers Compton, Jr. and wife Kelly of Graham› daughters, Cara Compton Rusmisell of Charlotte and Kelly Compton Cook and husband Jason of Graham› sister Sara C. “Sally” Horner and husband Bobby of Graham› his beloved grandchildren, Logan, Lilly and Jake Compton› Olivia and Ryan Henry› Quinn and Gabe Rusmisell› Lauren and Lindsey Cook› nephews, Mark Horner and Doug Horner and wife Christy.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm in the Rich and Thompson Chapel in Graham. Officiating will be the Rev. Steve Braswell.
Burial will be in Linwood Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, January 26, 2016 from 1:00 until 2:00 pm at the Rich and Thompson Funeral Home and Crematory in Graham, prior to the service.
