    BURLINGTON — Dr. Ludwig  Gaston Scott  of 118 Alamance Road, passed Saturday, July 26, 2008, at the Home Place of Burlington.
    A memorial service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday, August 10, 2008 at Union Ridge Church by the Rev. Dan Ficklin, pastor. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
    The family will receive friends in the Union Ridge Fellowship Hall following the service.
    Arrangements are by the McClure Funeral Service of Graham.

Dr. Ludwig Gaston Scott


    BURLINGTON — Dr. Ludwig Gaston Scott, 81, of The Home Place, 118 Alamance Road, died July 26, 2008.
    A native of Alamance County, he was the son of the late Dr. Floyd Scott and Frances S. Scott. He was a retired dentist and was in the first graduating class at The University of North Carolina Dental School in Chapel Hill. He was a member of Union Ridge Church. He shared a great love for his dogs and was also a member of the Antique Car Club. He was a U.S. Navy veteran serving in World War II.
    Survivors include sons, Mack L. Scott of Burlington, and Dr. Fred Scott of Bridgeport, W.Va.; daughters, Kathryn Scott Mitchell of Hillsboro, Ore., and Dawn Scott-Raxter of Raleigh; a brother, Dr. Samuel Scott of Burlington; a sister, Ora Lee Brady of Charlotte; and grandchildren, Cameron Scott, Reece Raxter and Lena Raxter.
    He was preceded in death by a brother, Peter Scott.
    A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, August 10, 2008, at Union Ridge Church by the Rev. Dan Ficklin. The family will receive friends in the church Fellowship Hall following the service.
    Memorials may be made to Union Ridge Church, 115 Altamahaw Union Ridge Road, Burlington, N.C. 27217 or to the UNC School of Dentistry, Campus Box 7450, Chapel Hill, N.C. 27599-7450.
    McClure Funeral Service in Graham is in charge of arrangements.
