Mack Ludwig Scott
BURLINGTON — Mr. Mack Ludwig Scott, 61, of Union Ridge, died on August 26, 2010 at Alamance Regional Medical Center.
He was the son of the late Dr. Ludwig Gaston Scott and Ms. Vivian Oliver Scott of Graham, who survives. He was also the grandson of Dr. Floyd and Francis Somers Scott and Edgar and Sadie Oliver of Burlington, all deceased.
Mack was a 1967 graduate of Walter Williams High School. He also graduated from the Technical College of Alamance. He served in the United States Air Force and was a Vietnam veteran. He was a retired computer engineer and salesman. He also worked at Lowe’s Home Improvement in Burlington. He was a Hunter Safety Instructor, a certified Lifeguard and swimming instructor, and a member of the Alamance Wildlife Club.
Mack is also survived by a son, Cameron Hargrove Scott of Elon; two sisters, Dawn Scott-Raxter of Raleigh and Kathryn Scott Mitchell of Oregon; and a brother, Dr. Fred Scott of West Virginia; along with several aunts and uncles.
A memorial service will be held at Union Ridge Church in Burlington, N.C., with the Rev. Dan Ficklin and the Rev. Brian Biggers officiating, at 2 p.m. on Sunday, August 29, 2010. The family will receive friends after the service in the church.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made in Mack’s memory to the N.C. Wildlife Federation, P.O. Box 10626, Raleigh, N.C. 27605.
