Tommy Wimbish, 86, of Burlington passed away at his residence on Wednesday, July 26, 2023.
A native of Snow Camp, he was the husband of Sandra Wimbish, who survives and the son of George Edmond Wimbish and Mary Jane Johnson Wimbish, both deceased. He was formerly employed with Shoffner Industries and was a member of Bible Baptist Church.
In addition to his wife of their home, survivors include two sons, Chad Wimbish and wife Jennifer of Snow Camp and Thomas Paul Wimbish, Jr. of Kinston; daughter, Diane Patton and husband Steve of Gibsonville; step-son, Guy Brantley and wife Stephanie of Holly Springs; six grandchildren, Tara, Stormy, Clark, Owen, Stephen, and Clara; two step-grandchildren, Cole and Parker; five great grandchildren; two sisters, Vickie Russell and Virginia Andrews; and three brothers, George Wimbish, Jr., James Wimbish and Jack Burgart. He was preceded in death by his brothers and sisters, John Wimbish, Clarence Wimbish, Romie Wimbish, Barney Wimbish, Ted Wimbish, Kathleen Horton, Francis Autwell, Roger Wimbish, Donnie Wimbish, and Glenn Wimbish.
The funeral service will be conducted at Bible Baptist Church on Monday, July 31, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. by Pastor Kevin Bunn with the family receiving friends from 12:45 until 1:45 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow at Alamance Memorial Park.
