February 20, 1941 ~ April 4, 2025 (age 84)
Barbara Kay Gibson Foushee-Carden, 84, passed away at Authoracare Hospice home in Burlington on Friday, April 4th, 2025.
An Alamance County native, she was the wife of the late William Howard Carden and the daughter of William Alvin Gibson and Mary Marina MacIntosh Gibson, both deceased.
Kay graduated from Graham High School in Burlington, retired from Western Electric, and was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses. In her retirement, she worked at Lowe’s Hardware in Burlington, where she got to do the thing she loved most–talking with others. She delighted in her family, especially her grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and second husband, Kay was preceded in death by her first husband, Victor Roberson Foushee, and her nine siblings, Sonny Gibson, Lurlene Quincy, Charlotte McVey, Joyce Shue, Joseph Gibson, Gloria McVey, David Gibson, and Marian Gibson.
She is survived by her daughters, Wendy Foushee, of Burlington; Leslie Foushee Whitesell and her husband Brian, of Elon; granddaughter, Baleigh Whitesell; grandson, Colby Whitesell; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be conducted at the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Graham on Monday, April 7, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 12:45 until 1:45. 261, Barbara Kay Gibson Foushee-Carden
