Mrs. Louise Beckom Pickett

BURLINGTON — Mrs. Louise Beckom Pickett, 80, of 1543 Shadylawn Drive, died at 8 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 21, 1999, at her home after five years of failing health.

A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of Mr. James O. Pickett, who survives, and the daughter of Mr. Clarence Beckom and Mrs. Ester Baldwin Beckom, both deceased. She was a buyer and sales representative for Sellars Department Store and was a member of Epsilon Sigma Alpha.

She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church.

Survivors other than her husband of the home include two sons, Mr. Jack Pickett of Greensboro and Mr. Jim Pickett of Greenville, S.C.; a sister, Mrs. Edith Beckom Moore of Burlington; and four grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Mr. Harold Beckom.

The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Westminster Presbyterian Church by the Rev. Powell Sykes, pastor. The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes before the service.

Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery.

The family will be at Rich and Thompson Mortuary in Burlington from 6 to 8 this evening and at other times at the home.
