Mrs. Sallie Kate Elizabeth Moore Gerringer Pritchett
RALEIGH — Mrs. Sallie Kate Elizabeth Moore Gerringer Pritchett, 85, of IHS Nursing Center, Blue Ridge Road, Raleigh, died at 7:30 a.m. Monday, July 15, 2002, at the residence after three years of failing health and a critical illness of five weeks.
A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of the late Howard W. Gerringer Sr. and the late Edgar Davidson Pritchett. She was the daughter of the late John Thomas Moore and Annie Leigh Ratcliffe Moore.
She was a member of Edenton Street United Methodist Church, she taught Sunday school and was on the Administrative Board of the United Methodist Church in Albany, Ga. She was a member of the Senior Olympics, The Thirty Niners, she directed the chorus at Whitaker Senior Center and was active in theatre work.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Kay Gerringer Williams of Raleigh; a son, Mr. Howard W. Gerringer Jr. of Raleigh; and a sister, Mrs. Gertrude Moore Johnston of Burlington.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Lucille Moore Ross and Evanell M. Miller; and three brothers, David A. Moore, G. Howard Moore, and William F. Moore.
A memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 17, 2002, at the Edenton Street United Methodist Church in Raleigh by Dr. Roger Elliott.
A service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 18, 2002, at the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Burlington by the Rev. Mark Andes. Burial will be in Berea United Church of Christ Cemetery.
The family will be at the Rich & Thompson Mortuary in Burlington from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, and at other times at the home of the daughter, Kay Williams, 4705-A Edwards Mill Road, Raleigh, N.C.
