James Wilbert Paschal Sr. REIDSVILLE, N.C. — Mr. James Wilbert Paschal Sr., 97, formerly of Cherry Grove Road, passed away Monday, April 28, 2014, at Edgewood Place after several weeks of failing health.
A native of Caswell County, he was the son of the late Elisha Paschal and the late Fanny Tate Paschal and was married for over 68 years to the late Alene Butler Paschal, who died in 2005.
Mr. Paschal was previously employed with Burlington Industries and Kayser-Roth and later retired from Collins and Aikman. He was a former member of the Cherry Grove Ruritans and was of the Methodist faith.
Mr. Paschal is survived by two daughters, Margie Ward and husband Junior of Burlington and Betty Ford and husband Arthur “Doc” of Graham; a son, James Wilbert “Jimmy” Paschal Jr. and wife Dee, of Augusta, Ga.; three grandchildren, Rodney Ward, Ginger Paschal and Jonathan Paschal; eight great-grandchildren; and two great-great-granddaughters.
He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; grandson, Mitchell Paschal; four sisters; and four brothers.
The funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, May 2, 2014, in the Lowe Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Camp Springs United Methodist Church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 Thursday evening at the funeral home and at other times at the daughter’s residence, Margie Ward, 505 Spring Valley Drive, Burlington.
