BURLINGTON — Joyce Gibson Shue, age 85, of Springview Assisted Living, passed away Wednesday, March 2, 2011, at Hospice Home.
A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of the late Harvey Leslie Shue, Jr. and daughter of the late William Alvin and Mary McIntosh Gibson. During her working career, she was employed by Woolworth’s, Rayless and Copeland Fabrics and was a Jehovah’s Witness.
She is survived by her daughter, Zane G. Gerringer and husband Jerry of Elon; grandson, Drew F. Gerringer and wife Shea of Elon; grandchildren, Rhett Freeman Gerringer, Sierra Coll and Jace Harrison Gerringer; sisters, Kay Carden and husband William of Graham and Charlotte McVey and husband Joe of Jacksonville, Fla. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brothers, David Lee Gibson, Joseph D. Gibson and William A. Gibson, Jr; sisters, Gloria McVey, Marian Gibson and Lurlene Quincy.
Joyce had requested that all services be private.
