Mrs. Beatrice Floyd Whitesell
GIBSONVILLE — Mrs. Beatrice Floyd Whitesell, 80, of 212 S. Wyrick St., died
Monday, Feb. 14, 2000, at her home.
A native of Davidson County, she was the wife of the late Mr. Charlie S. Whitesell and the
daughter of Mr. Lindsey Floyd and Mrs. Minnie Hunt Floyd, both deceased. She was a
former employee of the Industries for the Blind in Greensboro and was a member of
Gibsonville United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women.
Survivors include two sons, Mr. Richard Whitesell of Salisbury and Mr. Frank Whitesell
of Wilmington; three daughters, Ms. Maxine Neese of Gibsonville, Mrs. Carol Neece of
Elon College and Mrs. Lois Fuller of Whitsett; a sister, Mrs. Rachel Mowry of Salisbury;
10 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Mr. James Whitesell; a sister, Mrs. Ocea Thompson;
and a brother, Mr. Lee Floyd.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. today at Gibsonville United Methodist Church by
Dr. John Franklin Howard, pastor. The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes
before the service. Burial will be in the Gibsonville City Cemetery.
The family will be at the home.
