Carol Whitesell Neece

 
 ELON — Mrs. Carol Whitesell Neece, 72, of Elon died Wednesday, November 5, 2014, at 1:30 p.m. following two years declining health.
 
 A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of the late Raymond E. “Ray” Neece and the daughter of Charlie Sylvester Whitesell and Beatrice Floyd Whitesell, both deceased. She retired from Sears with 25 years of service and was also employed with Burlington Industries for 14 years.
 
 Carol was a very loyal and faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Elon for 25 years. She was active in Allied Churches, local and foreign missions and the Angel Food Ministries. She was an active member of A.I.A., Care & Share Group, the Book Club and the Gibsonville Senior Center.
 
 Survivors include two daughters, Deborah Neece and Rebecca Crawford, both of the home; two brothers, Richard Whitesell and wife Blanche of Salisbury and Frank Whitesell and wife Pat of Wilmington; two sisters, Maxine Cheek and husband Holt of Elon and Lois Fuller of Gibsonville; and many nieces and nephews.
 
 She was preceded in death by a brother, James “Buddy” Whitesell.
 
 The funeral service will be conducted at the First Baptist Church of Elon on Saturday, November 8, 2014, at 2 p.m. by Dr. Mason Fuller Smith with the family receiving friends from 12:45 to 1:45 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow in Gibsonville City Cemetery.
 
 In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Elon, P.O. Box 778, Elon, NC 27244 or to Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance-Caswell, 918 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, NC 27215.
