Charlie Rufus Aldridge dies at 100
   BURLINGTON — Mr. Charlie Rufus Aldridge, age 100, formerly of Alvis Boswell Rd. inYanceyville, died Saturday, January 26, 2013 at Alamance Regional Medical Center after several months of failing health.

   A native of Caswell County, he was the son of the late William Thomas Aldridge and the late Hulda Ann Page Aldridge and was married for over 61 years to the late Elsie Pauline Simmons Aldridge, who died in 1998. Mr. Aldridge was a longtime farmer and retired from the textile industry. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Caswell Ward and was an avid lover of bluegrass music.

   Mr. Aldridge is survived by five daughters, Katrine Hall, Polly Lewis, Merry Parrott and her husband, Robert, all of Burlington, Evonne Pruitt and her husband, Preston, of Haw River and Elaine Wrenn and her husband, Iven, of Elon; three sons, Charles Kenneth Aldridge and his wife, Debbie, of Burlington, Danny M. Aldridge of Yanceyville and Edison “Eddie” Aldridge and his wife, Barbara, of Greensboro; twenty one grandchildren ; thirty five great grandchildren; and four great great grandchildren.

   He was preceded in death by his wife; parents ; a son, George Wesley Aldridge; one granddaughter; one great granddaughter; and eleven brothers and sisters.

   The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 PM Tuesday, January 29, 2013 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Caswell Ward by BishopTrey Millner. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30 – 1:45 Tuesday at the church prior to the service.

   In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Cemetery Fund.
