Merry Aldridge Parrott

Mrs. Merry Aldridge Parrott, 71, of Burlington, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on Tuesday, October 11, 2022.

Merry was born January 13, 1951 in Caswell County to the late Charlie Rufus Aldridge and Elsie Pauline Simmons Aldridge.

She was a faithful and active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Caswell Ward and loved her church family.  She was an animal lover and enjoyed working in her flowers while watching the birds that frequented the feeders she put out for them.  Traveling to the beach and mountains with her family was always a highlight for Merry.  Above all, she was a devoted mother and grandmother and her family will be forever grateful for her warmth and love.

In addition to her parents, Merry was preceded in death by her husband, Robert “Buggs” Oylen Parrott, Jr., granddaughter, Addie Renee Parrott, and siblings, Polly Lewis, George Aldridge, and Danny Aldridge.

Merry is survived by her daughters, Lisa Parrott, Angela “Angel” Parrott, and Kristin Newman and husband Chris; son, Robert Oylen Parrott, III and wife Jessica; grandchildren, Hayleigh Woods, Jordyn Woods, Matthew Woods, Will Newnam, Luke Newnam, and Cole Parrott; great-grandchildren, Elliot, Gracyn, Kaylee, Lily, Riley, and Maggie; siblings, Katrine Hall, Eddie Aldridge, Evonne Pruitt, Elaine Wrenn, and Kenneth Aldridge; and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, October 15, 2022 at 3 PM at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Caswell Ward Cemetery.  The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service inside the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Animal Protection Society of Caswell County, PO Box 193, Yanceyville, NC  27379 or the Liver Transplant Program at Duke, www.giving.dukehealth.org.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to MediHome Health & Hospice, especially Aster, Chloe, and Matt for the kindness they showed to Merry during her illness. 256, Merry Aldridge Parrott
