Carl Anthony “Tony” Lewis II
Carl Anthony “Tony” Lewis II went home to be with our Lord on Saturday, July 3rd at 11:10 p.m. after battling extremely challenging health issues for many years. He lost the battle but won the war and is at peace.
A native of Alamance County, he was the loving husband of Polly Aldridge Lewis, his wife and caretaker. Tony was a graduate of Western High School. He graduated from the Technical Institute of Alamance and attended college in Chicago and Guilford Technical Community College. He was employed by AMP for almost 23 years.
Tony had a special love for animals. Before becoming disabled, he was multi-talented and multi-gifted. He did special work as a volunteer for the American Diabetes Association. His joy was helping others.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl Anthony Lewis and Sally Andrews Lewis; three siblings, Margaret, Buddy and an infant; one niece, Wendy Holt; a cousin, Bill Job; and his mother-in-law, Pauline Simmons Aldridge.
He is survived by his wife and caretaker, Polly Aldridge Lewis; brother, Troy D. Holt and his wife Beverly; fatherin-law, Charlie Rufus Aldridge; and his special cousins, Sarah Thornton and Russell Job. He is also survived by special family members including his brothers-in-law, sistersin-law, nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.
Special thanks to Hospice, wonderful family and friends, and all of the wonderful people at Annedeen-Gold Toe for all of the prayers and acts of kindness throughout the years.
