Melvin Thomas Page ELON — Melvin Thomas Page, 81, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, Nov. 24, 2014.
He was a native of Caswell County and the husband of 57 years to Betty Lou Oakley Page, who survives.
Melvin retired from Alamance Knit Fabrics after many years. He graduated from Anderson High School and attended Bush Arbor Primitive Baptist Church for many years. Melvin was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather and will always be remembered for his smile and gentle nature.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Lou Oakley Page, of the home; daughters, Penny Page O’Brien of Durham, Tracy Page Greene and husband Rodney of Elon and Christy Page Winnell and husband Trevor of Raleigh; son, Timothy “Tim” Page and wife Sandra of Caswell County; grandchildren, Michelle, Caroline and Kimberly O’Brien, Josh Page, Whitney and McKenzie Greene and Kaitlyn Winnell.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas “Tommy” and Sally Page; brothers, Lynn and Loften Page; and sisters, Lucy Page and Carrie Moore.
The funeral service will be conducted Friday, Nov. 28, 2014, at 2 p.m. at Bush Arbor Primitive Baptist Church by Elder David Underwood and the Rev. Darrell Massey. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 4 until 6 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 27, 2014, at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and at other times at the home.
