     Mrs. Betty Lou Oakley Page, age 87, of Elon, passed away on Friday, November 24, 2023 at Liberty Commons after a brief illness.
     Born in Alamance County, she was the daughter of the late Claude Samuel Oakley and the late Roberta Page Oakley and was married for over 57 years to the late Melvin Thomas Page, who passed in 2014.  She retired from Burlington Industries after 20+ years of service and was a longtime member of Bush Arbor Primitive Baptist Church.  Betty Lou enjoyed the simple things in life which included baking, gardening, watching her daytime Soap Operas, and spending time with her family. She especially enjoyed her afternoons having coffee and desserts with her sister.  Betty Lou was known for her quick wit and sassiness, but with a heart of gold and always available to assist anyone in need.
     Mrs. Page is survived by her three daughters, Penny Page O’Brien Cobb and husband, Jonathan, Tracy Page Greene and husband, Rodney, and Christy Page Winnell and husband, Trevor; her son, Timothy “Tim” Page and wife, Sandra; seven grandchildren, Michelle (Ryan) Clayton, Caroline (Alex) Moseley, Kimberly O’Brien, Josh Page, Whitney (Jacob) Howard, McKenzie Greene and Kaitlyn Winnell; four great grandchildren, Adaline Page, Reid and Oakley Moseley and Wells Clayton; a sister, Margaret Oakley Burton; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.  She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; a sister, Frances Oakley Heath; and a brother, James Oakley.
     The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, November 27, 2023 at Bush Arbor Primitive Baptist Church by Rev. Darrell Massey and Dwight O. Chandler.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 3:00 – 5:00 PM Sunday afternoon at Lowe Funeral Home & Crematory and other times at her grandson, Josh’s home, 2168 Pagetown Rd., Elon, NC.
     In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bush Arbor Primitive Baptist Church c/o Susan Newcomb, 900 Oakview Loop Rd., Yanceyville, NC27379 or to the Alzheimer’s Association at act.alz.org.
