Mr. George Woodrow Summers

ELON — Mr. George Woodrow Summers, 87, of Twin Lakes, and formerly of Summerdale Road, died Saturday, November 24, 2001, at the home. A native of Guilford County, he was the husband of Mrs. Bronna Walker Summers, who survives, and the son of George Andrew Summers and Lelia Brown Summers, both deceased. He was a retired dairy farmer with Summers Brothers Dairy for 46 years. He was a member of Friedens Lutheran Church. Survivors other than his wife of the home include a brother, Roy G. Summers of Gibsonville; a sister, Mrs. Mary S. Shepherd of Burlington; and several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Miss Iola Summers and Mrs. Eula S. Gerringer; and three brothers, Hubert A. Summers, the Rev. Dan B. Summers and Arlie W. Summers. The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at Friedens Lutheran Church by the Rev. Raymond A. Petree, pastor. Burial will be in Friedens Church Cemetery. Mrs. Summers will remain at Lowe Funeral Home until being taken to the church at 5 p.m. today, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. At other times the family will be at the home of Roy G. Summers, 6539 N.C. 61 North, Gibsonville. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Alamance-Caswell, P.O.
