Mrs. Kathleen Poole Kernodle
BURLINGTON — Mrs. Kathleen Poole Kernodle, 76, of 4144 Union
Ridge Road, went to heaven to be with the Lord on August 19, 2002 at 9:12 p.m., at the Hospice and Palliative Care Home of Alamance Caswell, after four mouths of declining health and a critical illness of three weeks.
A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of Mr. Charles Donald Kernodle Sr., who survives, and the daughter of the late Leroy R. Poole and Zula Lassiter Poole. She was a member of the Union Ridge United Church of Christ.
Survivors other than her husband of the home include two sons, Mr. Don Kernodle Jr. and Mr. Wally Kernodle, both of Burlington; a daughter, Mrs. Jean Kernodle Gaither and her husband, W.T. Gaither, of Burlington; and two grandchildren, Brian Gaither of Burlington, and Michelle G. Stewart and her husband, Tony Stewart, of High Point.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Mrs. Marietta Wyrick and Mrs. Gertrude Gammon; and a brother, Elmo Poole.
The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Friday at Union Ridge United Church of Christ by the Rev. Phil Hardy, the Rev. John Settlemyer, and Evangelist Nikita Koloff. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the Rich & Thompson Mortuary in Burlington from 6 to 8 this evening, and at other times at the residence.
