Undine DeBruler Kernodle
Sept. 3, 2014 was a bittersweet day for Undine DeBruler Kernodle as she left her family on Earth to join her Savior and loved ones in Heaven. Her life was remembered with a graveside service Friday at Trinity Memorial Park in Big Spring, Texas.
Undine was born Nov. 6, 1927, in Durham, N.C. She met her sweetheart Alan Kernodle in North Carolina but had to follow him to Big Spring for marriage and a family. She and Alan shared 62 years of marriage and were blessed with two children, both girls.
Undine worked as a secretary for College Heights, Washington and Kentwood schools for many years. She sold Mary Kay beauty products, volunteered at Scenic Mountain Medical Center and the Welcome Center of Big Spring and also was a Girl Scout leader. Undine loved the Lord and did her work for Him in the service of others by volunteering, teaching Sunday school and singing in the choir at First Christian Church. She enjoyed reading, cooking, travel and spending time with family and friends. Undine had a sweet soul, warm heart and friendly smile for everyone she encountered.
Those left to cherish her memory are daughter, Katie and husband Glen Grigg of Ackerly, Texas; grandson, J.D. and wife Carrie Grigg of Lubbock, Texas; granddaughter, Tinsey Grigg of Lubbock, Texas; sisters-inlaw, Cozette and Virginia Kernodle of Union Ridge; and six nieces and seven nephews. Other family and friends will remember her fondly.
Undine was preceded in death by daughter, Alana; husband, Alan; and four sisters. 3, Undine DeBruler Kernodle===========================
