 BURLINGTON — Mrs. Lois Matkins Brannock, 91, of Twin Lakes Community, Loyola Court, Burlington died at her residence on Wednesday, March 18, 2015.
 
 A native of Caswell County, she was the wife of the late James Lester Brannock Jr. and the daughter of Lemuel Gibbons Matkins Sr. and Lydia Fitch Matkins, both deceased. She was a homemaker and a member of Front Street United Methodist Church and Alamance Country Club.
 
 Survivors include a daughter, Susan B. Southard and husband Robert of Madeira Beach, FL; son, Jim Brannock and wife Martha of Elon; sister, Gloria M. DeMarra of Burlington; five grandchildren, Matthew Southard and wife Katty, Derek Southard and wife Karen, Stephen Southard and fiancée Heather Hicks, Celeste Gothorp and husband Roger and Nancy Wilson and husband Taylor; eight great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
 
 She was preceded in death by seven brothers, William Matkins, Norris Matkins, Leonard F. Matkins, Coy Matkins, L. G. Matkins Jr., Clarence C. Matkins and Worth Matkins and two sisters, Annie M. Barker and Ila M. Terrell.
 
 The funeral service will be conducted at Front Street United Methodist Church on Saturday, March 21, 2015, at 2 p.m. by the Rev. Ray Wittman and the Rev. Nathan D. Arledge with the family receiving friends from 12:30 to 1:45 p.m. prior to the service in the Heritage Room of the church. Burial will follow the service at Pine Hill Cemetery.
 
 At other times, the family will receive friends at the residence of the son and his wife, Jim and Martha Brannock, 214 Forestview Drive, Elon, NC.
 
 Memorials may be made to Front Street United Methodist Church, 136 South Fisher Street, Burlington, NC 27215 and Shiloh United Methodist Church, 4718 N NC Hwy. 87, Gibsonville, NC 27249.
