Gaynell Frances (Cobb) Bruner
October 13, 1937 ~ August 13, 2024 (age 86)
Gaynell Frances Cobb Bruner, also known as mama, grandma and memaw, 86 years of age, went to be with the Lord on Monday, August 12, 2024 at Liberty Commons Nursing Center.
Gaynell was born October 13, 1937 in Alamance County, to the late Herman Gattis Cobb & Ruby Lucy Cobb.
She was the sister of the late Ronald Cobb, the late Edward Cobb and the late Freddie Cobb, all of Alamance County.
Gaynell was married to the late J. B. Bruner and preceded in death by son, Larry James Bruner.
Gaynell worked as a knitting supervisor at Gold Toe Hosiery for 47 years where she not only was a hard worker but also had a love and caring heart for her fellow work friends.
She leaves to cherish her memory: her daughter, Lisa Church, son-in-law Bruce Church of Burlington. Grandson Justin Church and wife Sarah Margaret Church, Great granddaughters Payton & Abigail Church of Gibsonville. Granddaughter Shanley Shelburne and husband Ross Shelburne, Great granddaughter Ada of Pennington Gap, VA.
Gaynell had an abundance love for the Lord and her family. She had a passion for living life to its fullest while having the best time ever. Laughing out loud, loving people while giving all she had.
Celebration of life services will be held at McClure Funeral Service in Graham on Saturday, August 17, 2024. The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM until time of service at 1:00 PM.
Bruce Church, Justin Church, Ross Shelburne, Dean Warren, Randy Cobb & Bryant Cobb will serve as pallbearers, accompanying Gaynell on her final journey at Alamance Memorial Park, 4039 S Church St. Burlington.
Gaynell’s life was a testament to the beauty of a life well-lived, the lives she touched, and the love she shared. Her presence will be deeply missed, but her legacy will bloom eternally in the hearts of those she has left behind.
The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the caregivers of Liberty Commons, Burlington for their kindness, support and care shown to Gaynell.
