Mrs. Helen Fryar Summers
GIBSONVILLE — Mrs. Helen Fryar Summers , 84, passed away on Sunday, April 15, 2007, at the Hospice Home.
Mrs. Summers was born April 5, 1923, in Guilford County to the late Floyd and Mary Ketchie Fryar .
She was married to the late Roy Garland Summers , who preceded her in March of 2006.
Mrs. Summers was a member of Friedens Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday school and was a member of the church choir.
Survivors include two daughters, Rhonda Lynn Summers of Stoney Creek, and Gayle Honeycutt of Greensboro; a son, Rodney Summers and his wife, Tammi, of Elon; two granddaughters, Tanner and Laci Summers ; a sister, Doris "Mutt" F. Hayes of Burlington; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 18, 2007, at Friedens Lutheran Church by the Rev. Delbert Chilton, and the Rev. Raymond Petrea.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 this evening April 17, 2007, at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory, and at other times at the son’s home, 7152 Summerdale Road, Elon.
The family would like to thank Alamance Regional Medical Center; Liberty Commons; the Hospice Home; Kernodle Clinic; and Hospice of Alamance-Caswell, for the care that was given to Mrs. Summers during her illness.
