BURLINGTON - Susan Elaine Keenan Cook, age 67, of Anthony Road, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on January 19, 2017.
Susan was the wife of the late, James Hubert Cook Sr., and the daughter of the late Joe Riley and Dorothy Fogleman Keenan.
Susan was a graduate of Southern Alamance High School and a member of Macedonia Lutheran Church.
She was an amazing daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and friend.
She is survived by her daughter, Jacqueline Cook Shoffner (Justin) of Liberty NC, her son James H. Cook Jr. (Lauren) of Burlington NC, two sisters, Linda Keenan Brackett (John) of Valdese, NC and her twin sister Ellen Keenan Walker of Snow Camp NC, three loving grandchildren, Gracie Shoffner, Riley Shoffner and William Cook, and her dog Lily.
Susan’s greatest joy was the love she shared with her husband and family. She was a caregiver to her core; always willing to help and knowing exactly how. Her kind and giving spirit was a blessing to all who had the honor of knowing and loving her.
The memorial service will be held at Mount Zion Baptist Church, 3572 Greensboro Chapel Hill Road on Tuesday, January 24, 2017 at 6 p.m.
The family will hold a reception for family and friends following the service in the fellowship hall. Memorials may be made to Macedonia Lutheran Church/Organ Fund 421 West Front Street Burlington, NC 27215.
