Mrs. Gaynelle Zimmerman Wicker
GIBSONVILLE — Mrs. Gaynelle Zimmerman Wicker, 84, formerly of 210 Oaks St.,
died at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 21, 2000, at Liberty Commons.
A native of Guilford County, she was the wife of the late Mr. Jesse Vance Wicker and the
daughter of Mr. Nieffer Whitson Zimmerman and Mrs. Nettie Wagoner Zimmerman, both
deceased. She was the retired owner and operator of Wicker Upholstery in Belle Glade,
Fla., and owner and operator of Wicker Self Service Grocery in Gibsonville. She was a
member of Gibsonville Christian Church, where she was a member of activities at the
church and at Chosen Baptist Church in Belle Glade, Fla.
Survivors include two daughters, Ms. Vivian Wicker May of Burlington and Mrs. Bernice
Wicker Emmons of Whitsett; two brothers, Kenneth Zimmerman of Sebring, Fla., and Mr.
George Zimmerman of Mountain Home, Ark.; six grandchildren; and 10
great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three sisters, Ms. Mildred Kirkman, Ms. Irene Newby and
Ms. Grace Moore.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Gibsonville Christian Church by the
Rev. Paul Morton, pastor. The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes before the
service. Burial will be in Friedens Lutheran Church cemetery.
The family will be at Lowe Funeral Home from 4 to 6 today afternoon and at other times at
the home of a daughter, Ms. Vivian May, 2005 Nottingham Lane, Burlington.
