Obituary
Mrs. Shirley Gerringer Fleeman, 88 of Burlington, went to be with the Lord on Friday, October 28, 2022, at Beacon Place Hospice in Greensboro.
A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of the late Sonny Fleeman. They loved each other and were married for almost 60 years until Sonny’s passing in 2014. She also loved her parents very much and was the only child of the late Giles “Jack” Gerringer and Lois Gerringer. She retired from the Claims Department of Somers Pardue Insurance Agency and was a lifelong member of Shallow Ford Christian Church.
Her survivors include 2 sons: Sonny Fleeman, II and wife Lydia of Burlington; Steven Fleeman and wife Renee of Jamestown; two grandsons, Sonny Fleeman, III and wife Camille, Jason Fleeman and wife Ana; two granddaughters Katrina Sechler and husband Benjamin, Stephanie Sekaly and husband Cody; 7 great-grandchildren, Taylor Fleeman, Lucy Fleeman, Sonny “Boise” Fleeman, IV, Ian Fleeman, Jace Fleeman, Abigail Sechler, and Rachel Sechler.
Shirley loved her family, her kitties, going to the coast, and playing cards and board games. Some of her fondest memories were of going to the beach and on several cruises with her family. She was very proud of her extended family and cherished the many Christmases, other holidays, and vacations they spent together.
The family would like to extend their appreciation to friends and other relatives for their love and kindness now and throughout Shirley’s life.
A funeral service will be held at Shallow Ford Christian Church on Saturday, November 5, 2022, at 12:00 noon by Pastor Steve Regan with the family receiving friends from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. prior to the service in the church parlor. 261, Shirley Gerringer Fleeman
