Mrs. Lois Kernodle Gerringer Tysor

BURLINGTON — Mrs. Lois Kernodle Gerringer Tysor, 87, of 2509 Briarwood Drive,
died at 1:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 31, 2000, at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, after several months of failing health, and one week critical.

A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of Mr. Joseph W. Tysor, who survives, and the late Mr. Giles M. “Jack” Gerringer, and the daughter of Mr. James Weldon Kernodle and Mrs. Mammie Faucette Kernodle, both deceased. She was retired from Mary’s Apparel and was a member of Shallow Ford United Church of Christ.

Survivors other than her husband of the home include a daughter, Mrs. Sonny D. (Shirley) Fleeman of Burlington; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three stepdaughters; and a stepson.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at Shallow Ford United Church of Christ by the Rev. Leslie Jolley, pastor, and the Rev. Phil Hardy, pastor of Union Ridge United Church of Christ. The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes before the service. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

The family will be at Rich and Thompson Mortuary in Burlington from 6 to 8 this evening, and at other times at the home of the daughter, 919 Fleeman Lane, Burlington. 3, Mrs. Lois Kernodle Gerringer Tysor
