Mr. Henry Flournoy Conner
GRAHAM — Mr. Henry Flournoy Conner, 73, of 1061 Gant Road, died, at 4:10 a.m.
Sunday March 5, 2000, in the Veterans Administration Hospital in Durham.
A native of Hailfax County, Va., he was the husband of the late Mrs. Thelma Toy Conner
and Mrs. Beatrice Morris Conner, who survives. He was the son of Mr. Waddell L.
Conner and Mrs. Annie Bertha Conner, both deceased. He was the retired owner of
Conner Automotive. He was a member of First Newlife Baptist Church of Burlington and
a U.S. Army veteran.
Survivors other than his wife of the home include a daughter, Mrs. Betty Hopkins of
Harrisonburg, Va.; three sons, Mr. Gilbert Eugene Conner of Jacksonville, Fla., Mr.
David Henry Conner of Eugene, Ore., and Capt. Doug Conner of the U.S. Army; three
sisters, Mrs. Ruth Reaves and Mrs. Ella Howerton, both of Roxboro, and Mrs. Patty
Bowens of Burlington; four brothers, Mr. Ernest Conner of Elon College, Mr. Bobby
Conner of Graham, Mr. Joseph Conner of Roxboro and Mr. Wade Conner of Marion,
S.C.; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Miss Glenda Marie Conner; and a brother, Mr.
Paul Conner.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at McClure Funeral Home Chapel in
Graham by the Rev. Hubert Clemmons. Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery.
The family will be at McClure Funeral Home in Graham from 7 to 9 Tuesday evening and
