Mr. E.W. Coleman (Edgar Walter)
BURLINGTON — Mr. E.W. “Doc” Coleman, 92, of 1029 Washington St., died at 4:30 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 8, 2001, after six months of declining health and a critical illness of four days.
Mr. Coleman was retired from Jack Pritchette Oil Co. and was a former member of the Burlington Lions Club.
He was a member of Piedmont Presbyterian Church where he was a member of the Men’s Bible Class and was a retired deacon and church elder.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Elizabeth Garrison Coleman of the home; a son, Mr. Dean Coleman of Burlington; a sister, Mrs. Claude (Ruth) Jeffreys of Greensboro; three grandsons, Ron (Debra) Coleman, Nathan (Crystal) Coleman and John (Jennifer) Coleman; five great-grandchildren, Melissa Coleman, Elizabeth Coleman, Parker Coleman, Rachel Coleman and Cassidy Coleman; and three great-stepgrandchildren, Stephen, Kevin and Kristina Boswell.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mrs. Uphvasia Belle Arnold Coleman and Mr. Joseph Allen Coleman.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at Piedmont Presbyterian Church by the Rev. Morton Kurtz.
Burial will be in Alamance Memorial Park.
Visitation will be at McClure Funeral Home in Burlington from 6 to 8 this evening, and at other times the family will receive friends at the residence,1029 Washington St., Burlington.
