Alene T. Garrison
BURLINGTON — Mrs. Alene T. Garrison, 93, of 858 Stoney Creek Church Road, Burlington, passed away Wednesday, July 6, 2011 at the Hospice Home in Burlington.
A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of the late William Murray Garrison and daughter of the late Carl Thomas and the late Martha Bell Hinshaw Thomas. Alene retired from the Alamance County School System as a cafeteria worker at A.O. Elementary and Western High School. She was a member of Stoney Creek Presbyterian Church and the TOPS Club.
She is survived by one son, Ronnie Garrison and his wife Susan of Burlington; three grandchildren, Christina Elliott and her husband Brad, Walter C. Garrison and his wife Tiffany, and Will R. Garrison and fiancée Kirsten Silva; two great-grandchildren, Tyler Paschal and Evie Garrison; one sister, Hilda McPherson and her husband Donald of Graham; and one brother, Jim Thomas and his wife Ruth of Panama City, Fla.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her son,Thomas R. “Tommy” Garrison; daughterin-law, Sarah Truitt Garrison; two sisters, Duel Smith and Omia Harville; and brother, Curry Thomas.
The graveside service will be conducted at the Stoney Creek Presbyterian Church Cemetery on Saturday, July 9, 2011 at 10 a.m. by the Rev. Reid Dickens.
