Anderrena Lewis 

    BURLINGTON — Mrs. Anderrena  Brown Lewis  of 3903 Muhlenberg Court at Twin Lakes, passed away Wednesday, November 14, 2007.

    A native of Guilford County, she was the wife of Samuel F. Lewis  Sr. and the daughter of the late George Edgar and Bessie Louellen Brown. She attended Elon College and worked as a secretary with Burlington Industries until retirement.

    She was an active member of Shiloh United Methodist Church, having served several years as a lay delegate to the N.C. Conference, as well as other committees and offices of the church. She was also a member of the church choir as well as a member of the Twin Lakes choir. She was a member of the United Methodist Women, serving on various officer positions in her church and 12 years on the Burlington District Team as Treasurer, Global Concerns Coordinator, nominations chairperson, and on the nominations committee.

    Survivors include her husband, Samuel F. Lewis  Sr. of the home; daughter, Carol Griffin and husband, Robert C., of Murrells Inlet, S.C.; son, Samuel F. Lewis  Jr. of Raleigh; grandchildren, Allyson Binnicker and husband, Robbie, of Piedmont, S.C., Brent Griffin and wife, Ginger, of Phoenix. Ariz., Hollie Vires and husband, Rob, of Fayetteville and Cameron Griffin of Charleston, S.C.; great-grandchildren, Griffin, Sam and Braden Binnicker of Piedmont, S.C.; sister, Mrs. Mildred Thomas and husband, John, of Burlington; sister-inlaw, Nellie Brown of Peterstown, W.Va. and Edith Lewis  of Gibsonville.

    She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Leona Brown Moore, Viola Brown Litten; and brothers, George Houston Brown, John Elmo Brown and Thomas Brown.

    Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, November 16, 2007, at the Shiloh United Methodist Church by the Rev. David Stark and the Rev. Gene Ferrell. Interment will follow in Alamance Memorial Park. Mrs. Lewis  will remain at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory until taken to the church to lie in state 30 minutes prior to the funeral service.

    The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, and at other times at the residence.
