GIBSONVILLE — Geraldine Sutton Brown, 76, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 25, 2016, at ARMC. She was a native of Guilford County and the wife of 58 years to Albert Gene Brown who survives.
Geraldine retired as an inspector and operator with Lorillard after 40 years of service. She was a longtime member of Apple’s Chapel Christian Church. Geraldine enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening and canning food for family and friends. She was a loving and devoted Christian wife, mother and grandmother.
Survivors include her husband, Albert Gene Brown of the home; sons, Steve Brown and wife, Phyllis of Raleigh, Chris Brown and wife, Tami of Mebane and Chad Brown and wife, Karen of Raleigh; grandchildren, Carlton Brown, Hayden Brown, Mackenzie Brown, Alex Brown and Abby Brown; brothers, Staley Sutton and wife, Betty of Gibsonville and Donald Sutton and wife, Phyllis of Rock Hill, SC. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph Staley and Claudia Scott Sutton and a sister, Lorene Barber.
The funeral service will be held on Sunday, February 28, 2016, at 2 p.m. at Apple’s Chapel Christian Church by Pastor Dave Johnson and assisted by Pastor Lee Pittard and the burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3-5 p.m. on Saturday at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at the home.
