GRAHAM - Mr. Vernon J. Moon, 79, of 1247 S. Main Street, Graham, died at 12:35 a.m. Wednesday, June 11, 1997, at White Oak Manor, after several years failing health and two weeks critical.
The funeral will be 5 p.m. Friday, June 13, 1997, at Rich and Thompson Chapel, Graham, with burial in Graham Memorial Park.
Dr. Dace A. Lewis, executive director of the Friendship Center of Alamance and pastor of Front Street Christian Church, will officiate.
A native of Alamance County, he was a son of the late John Thomas Moon and the late Maude Long Moon Meeks. He was a retired manager at Coble Dairy in Burlington. He was a member of Bethany Presbyterian Church, where he was a deacon. He was a former member of the Graham Exchange Club, was a member of the Alamance Senior Golfers, the Rockingham Fishing Club, and was a World War II Army veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Audrey Guthrie Moon of the home; son and daughter-in-law, John V. and Eleanor Moon of Graham; grandchildren, Jack Moon, Emily Moon and Hunter Moon. He was preceded in death by his stepfather, John Meeks; and by his brother, Otha Meeks. 470, Vernon John Moon-Obituary Information
