Myrtle  B. Madren 

    BURLINGTON — Mrs. Myrtle  Elizabeth Boswell Madren , age 97, of 3226 Altamahaw-Union Ridge Road, passed away Tuesday, January 15, 2008, at her home.

    A native of Caswell County, she was the wife of the late Herbert Millard Madren  and daughter of the late William Layfayette "Fayte" and Rosa Rudd Boswell .

She was a member of Bethlehem Christian Church, the Eveready Sunday school class, the Morning Circle, a charter member of the Piecemakers Quilting Guild and a volunteer for Meals on Wheels.

She was formerly employed by Glen Raven Mills and was custodian of Bethlehem Christian church for 40 years.

    Survivors include three daughters, Wylline Garrison and husband, Earl, of Burlington, Kaye Wrenn and husband, Carl, of Elon and Faye Apple and husband, Wayne, of Burlington; sons, Harold Madren  and wife, Geynell, of Gibsonville, Clyde Madren  and wife, Pat, of Burlington, Jack D. Madren  and wife, Glenda, of Burlington and Larry Madren  and wife, Cheryl, of Browns Summit; 13 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren; a brother, Elbridge Boswell  of Burlington; and sister, Frances B. Gilliam of Burlington.

    She was preceded in death by sisters, Florence Matkins, Nanny Boswell ; brothers, Aubrey, Alton, John and James Boswell .

    The funeral will be held at 3:30 p.m. Thursday at Bethlehem Christian Church by the Rev. Dave Gilbert, pastor. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

    Mrs. Madren  will remain at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory until taken to the church to lie in state 30 minutes prior to the funeral service.
    The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, and at the residence at other times.
