OBITUARIES Mrs. Nora Bryant Griswold
ELON — Mrs. Nora Bryant Griswold, 78, formerly of 105 Woodland Drive, died Thursday, May 6, 2004, at the Hospice and Palliative Care Center after six years of declining health.
A native of Yadkin County, she was the wife of the late James William Griswold, and the daughter of the late N.P. Bryant and Beulah Long Bryant. She was retired from Western Electric and was a member of the Telephone Pioneers Club at Western Electric. She was a member of Elon Community Church, where she served as a nursery teacher, and was a member of The Women’s Fellowship.
Survivors include two daughters, Ms. Olga Marie Griswold of Elon and Mrs. Patricia Griswold Oliver and husband, Eddie, of Gibsonville; two grandchildren, Ashton Elaine Oliver and Nathaniel Brent Oliver; three brothers, Mr. Arthur Bryant of Carthage, Mr. Albert Bryant of Hamptonville, and Mr. Charles Bryant of Memphis, Tenn.; and a sister, Mrs. Martha Smith of Anniston, Ala.
She was preceded in death by four sisters, Eloise Bryant, Bernice Watts, Virginia Bryant, and Mae Bryant; and a brother, Paul Bryant.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, May 10, 2004, at Elon Community Church by the Rev. Dan Kuhn, and the Rev. Dian G. Jackson. Burial will be in Alamance Memorial Park. The body will be taken to the church 30 minutes prior to the service.
The family will be at the Rich & Thompson Mortuary in Burlington from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday.
