OBITUARIES David  Miles Smith 
    BURLINGTON — David  Miles Smith , 55 of Durham Street died on Friday, November 5, 2004 at Person Memorial Hospital. He was a native of Alamance County and the husband of Sandra Lemons Smith  who survives.
    He was the son of the late Albert Claude and Mary Lee Sharpe Smith .
    David  was employed by Western Carolina Forklift Company and a US Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He was an avid sportsman enjoying both hunting and fishing. He was a loving husband for over 24 years to Sandra and a loving father and grandfather.
    Survivors include his wife of the home, daughters and sonlaw, Kelly and Jason Jones of Charlotte and Samantha Smith  Overcash of Burlington; son, Shannon Smith  of Swepsonville; grandchildren, Heather Smith , Skylar Jones, Jaylyn Overcash, Brent and David Smith ; sisters and brothers-in-law, Claudia and Gary Hurteau of Graham and Rose and Howard Harvey of Elon.
    The funeral services will be held on Monday, November 8, 2004 at 2:00 PM at the Lowe Funeral Home Chapel and the burial will follow at Alamance Memorial Park. There will not be a visitation but the family will be at the home of the daughter, Samantha Overcash, 525 Texas Avenue, Burlington, NC 27215.
