BURLINGTON — Mr.Walter T. (Bud) Small, 91, of Burlington died at the Hospice Home in Burlington on Wednesday, August 19, 2009 at 11:12 p.m.
A native of Alamance County, he was the husband of the late Margaret B. Small and the son of Hugh Patrick Small and Elizabeth Lindsay (Lizzie) Small, both deceased. He was the former owner and operator of Small’s Heating and Air Conditioning. He was a member of Brightwood Christian Church and a life member of the Burlington Moose Lodge.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Peggy Small Wright (Garry) of Maiden, N.C. and Ms. Sandra Small of the home; three sons, Mr. Howard Odell Small (Wanda), Mr. John Alan Small (Glenda) and Mr.Terry Lee Small (Julie), all of Burlington; a daughterin-law, Mrs. Betty Sue Small of Burlington; 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Mr. George (Clem) Small of Galesburg, Mich.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Mr. Lynn Hoffman Small and a brother and several sisters.
The funeral service will be conducted at Brightwood Christian Church on Saturday, August 22, 2009 at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the Rich & Thompson Funeral and Cremation Service in Burlington on Friday from 6 until 8 p.m.
