Elvira  Brann Simpson 


    BURLINGTON — Elvira  Brann Simpson , 62, of 2530 Elvira  Trail, passed away Sunday, July 16, 2006, after a three week illness. She was the wife of Robert H. Simpson  Jr. for 45 years, and the daughter of the late Aubrey T. and Chestiny Morris Brann. She was a native of Person County, a homemaker, a member of Community Baptist Church, and regularly attended Altamahaw Baptist Church. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
    Survivors include her husband of the home; children, Debbie J. Rice of Burlington, Wanda J. Sutton of Burlington, Theresa Faircloth and her husband, Gary, of Burlington, Janet Martin and her husband, Wayne, of Graham, Robert Douglas "Doug" Simpson  and his wife, Jill, of Gibsonville, Jennifer Roberts and her husband, Curtis, of Burlington; grandchildren, Amanda Basham and her husband, Keith, Randall Sutton and his wife, Krystal, Jan Simpson , Samantha Matkins and her husband, Thad, Robert K. Sutton, Ryan S. Sutton, Tylor Martin, Chelsea Mae Roberts, Curtis Roberts Jr., Kimberly D. Hales; great-grandchildren, Preston Willets, Christian Sutton, Abagail Sutton, Annabelle and Camden Matkins, Kayleigh Basham, Camron Sutton, Ryan Sutton Jr.; a sister, Mrs. Ray B. Sally of Virginia; brothers, Owen Brann of Roxboro, Ruben Brann of Gibsonville, Cicil Brann, Clifton Brann and Leonard Brann of Roxboro.
    The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Altamahaw Baptist Church by the Rev. Walter Jones, and the Rev. Curtis Oakley. Interment will follow in Alamance Memorial Park.
    The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 this evening at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory Inc., and at other times at the home.
    Memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance-Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, N.C. 27215.
