William Dallas “Bill” King Jr.
BURLINGTON — Mr. William Dallas “Bill” King Jr., 77, of 1737 Hedge Street, Burlington, died at the Hospice Home in Burlington on Thursday, February 25, 2010, at 4:55 a.m. following one year of failing health.
A native of Alamance County, he was the husband of the late Elizabeth Brown King and Sandra Jones King, who survives, and the son of William Dallas King Sr. and Eva Wyatt King, both deceased. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force serving during the Korean Conflict. He retired from the North Carolina Department of Transportation with 42 years and 8 months of service. Mr. King was a member of the First Baptist Church of Mebane and former chairman of the Usher Committee.
Inadditiontohiswifeoftheir home, survivors include a son, Steve Dallas King of Whitsett; two step-sons, Brooks Testerman and Greg Testerman and wife Jennifer, all of Burlington; two sisters, Doris Cole and husband Harold of Haw River and Betty Ector and husband Walter of Burlington; one brother, Bobby W. King and wife Linda of Burlington; and two step-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be conducted at the Rich & Thompson
Chapel in Graham on Saturday, February 27, 2010, at 2 p.m. by the Rev. Rick Webster. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Mebane.
The family will receive friends at the Rich & Thompson Funeral Home and Crematory in Graham on Saturday from 12:30 until 1:30 p.m. prior to the service.
