Bobby Kenneth Tickle Sr.


    GIBSONVILLE — Mr. Bobby Kenneth Tickle Sr., 64, of 403 Oakhurst Street, Gibsonville, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 10, 2009.

    A native of Alamance County, he was the husband of Linda Caddell Tickle, who survives and the son of William Howard Tickle Sr. and Hazel Woodlief Tickle, both deceased.

He was a veteran of the U. S. Navy and was previously employed by Glen Raven Mills. Mr. Tickle was a member of the Moose Lodge, the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion. He was of the Baptist faith.

    In addition to his wife of the home, survivors include two daughters, Susan Russell and husband, Jimmy and Tabitha Parrish, both of Burlington; four grandchildren, Ashley Russell, J. J. Russell, Calvin Parrish and Corey Parrish; four sisters, Edna Haithcock and husband, Basil, Janie Bennett, and Nancy Owen and husband, Clarence, all of Gibsonville and Betty Haithcock of Graham; one brother, Tommy Tickle and wife, Janice of Whitsett; and a sister-in-law, Polly Vierling of Florida.

    He was preceded in death by his son, Bobby K. Tickle Jr. and his brother, William Howard Tickle Jr.

    A graveside service will be conducted at Gibsonville City Cemetery on Friday, February 13, 2009 at 2 p.m. by the Rev. Randy Hobbs, the Rev. Randy Barber and the Rev. James Stanley.

    The family will receive friends at the Rich & Thompson Funeral and Cremation Service in Burlington on Thursday from 6 until 8 p.m. At other times they will be at the residence.

    Memorials may be made to Central Baptist Church Building Fund, 302 Church Street, Gibsonville, N.C. 27249.
