Mrs. Hazel Woodlief Tickle
GIBSONVILLE — Mrs. Hazel Woodlief Tickle, 84, of 319 N. Wyrick St., died Monday, March 26, 2001, at White Oak Manor after five years of failing health, four weeks critical. A native of Vance County, she was the wife of the late Mr. William Howard Tickle Sr. and the daughter of Mr. Thomas Woodlief and Mrs. Effie Lunsford Woodlief, both deceased. She was a homemaker and a member of Central Baptist Church in Gibsonville and the Adult Sunday School Class. Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Basil (Edna) Tickle Haithcock, Mrs. Janie Tickle Bennett and Mrs. Clarence (Nancy) Owen, all of Gibsonville, and Ms. Betty Tickle Haithcock of Graham; three sons, Mr. William (Linda) Tickle Jr. of Snow Camp, Mr. Bobby (Linda) Tickle of Gibsonville and Mr. Thomas “Tommy” (Janice) Tickle of Whitsett; 15 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Mrs. Virgie Newton, Mrs. Emma Surratt and Mrs. Rosa Wilkerson; and four brothers, Mr. Lonnie Woodlief, Mr. Lacy Woodlief, Mr. Garland Woodlief and Mr. Junior Woodlief. The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday at Central Baptist Church by the Rev. Randy
Barber, pastor, and the Rev. Bill Skenes, pastor of Cornerstone Baptist Church. The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes before the service. Burial will be in Gibsonville City Cemetery. The family will be at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory from 6 to 8 this evening, and at other times at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Nancy Owen, 403 Whitesell St., Gibsonville.
