Mr. Victor Zigmont Zdanowicz


    GIBSONVILLE — Mr. Victor Zigmont Zdanowicz, 84, formerly of Powerline Road, in Gibsonville, died Sunday, September 28, 2008, at White Oak Manor.
    A native of Gardner, Massachusetts, Mr. Zdanowicz was the husband of the late Doris Virginia Huffman Allen Zdanowicz and the son of the late Stephen Zdanowicz and the late Leonora Hajdukiewicz Zdanowicz.
    Mr. Zdanowicz was a retired machinist with Compton-Knowles and a self-employed painter. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving in World War II, Korea and he participated in the Bay of Pigs.
    He is survived by a stepson, Carl Allen and his wife, Joyce, of Gibsonville; a daughter, Suzanna Calvert of Maryland; his sister, Sophia Belsky of Gardner, Massachusetts; a brother, Chester Zdanowicz and his wife, Pat, of Littleton, Massachusetts; a stepgrandson, Jeffrey Stafford, of Gibsonville; and two greatstepgrandchildren, Mackenzie and Ethan Stafford.
    He was preceded in death by his son, Andrew Edward Zdanowicz of Boston.
    A private graveside service with military honors will be held Wednesday in Friedens Lutheran Church cemetery.
    Memorials may be made to the Scholarship Fund for the Education of Mackenzie and Ethan Stafford, c/o Gibsonville Community Bank, P.O. Box 107, Gibsonville, N.C. 27249.
