Mrs. Doris Huffman Zdanowicz
    GIBSONVILLE — Mrs. Doris Huffman Zdanowicz, 80, of 7141 Powerline Road, died at 11 p.m. Monday, Aug. 18, 2003, at Moses Cone Hospital after three years of failing health and a critical illness of 11 days.
    A native of Guilford County, she was the wife of the late Carl M. Allen Sr. and Victor Z. Zdanowicz, who survives. She was the daughter of the late Cyrus Fowler Huffman and the late Ellie Heritage Huffman. She was retired executive secretary to the director of the N.C. Children’s Home Society, and a member of Peace Lutheran Church. Survivors other than her husband of the home include a son, Mr. Carl M. Allen Jr. and wife, Joyce, of Gibsonville; grandson, Mr. Jeffery Stafford and wife, Libby, of Gibsonville; great-grandchildren, Mackenzie Stafford and Ethan Stafford.
    A memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 21, 2003, at Peace Lutheran Church by the Rev. Stephen Mims and the Rev. Richard Rhoades. A private burial service will be held at Friedens Lutheran Church cemetery.
    The family will receive friends at Peace Lutheran Church from 6:30 to 8:30 this evening.
    Rich & Thompson Funeral and Cremation Service in Burlington is in charge of arrangements.
