Death Takes Mrs. Cox Last Night
ELON COLLEGE -- Mrs. Mabel Greeson Cox, 60, of 301 Trollinger Ave. died at her home Tuesday night at 9:30 o'clock after seven months of illness.
A native of Alamance County, she was the daughter of Mrs. --- Huffman Greeson of Rt. 2, Gibsonville, and the late Perry A. Greeson. She was a retired town clerk of Elon College, and was a member of the First Reformed United Church of Christ. She was former president of Elon College Garden Club.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, Walter E. Cox of the home; three daughters, Mrs. Robert Gottlieb of Huntington, N.Y., Mrs. Wade Young of Attleboro, Mass., and Mrs. Ben Strickland of Goldsboro; one son, Walter E. Cox, Jr. of the home; one sister, Mrs. Herman Carter of Rt. 2, Gibsonville: two brothers, Upton Greeson of Burlington, and Pete Greeson of Rt. 2, Gibsonville; and four grandchildren.
Final rites will be conducted Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock at Rich and Thompson Chapel in Burlington. The Rev. Thomas R. Hamilton, pastor of Elon College Community Church, will officiate, assisted by Dr. Tom D. Anderson, Pastor of the First Presbyterian Church of Burlington.
The body will remain at Rich and Thompson Mortuary through the service.
The family will be at the residence at 301 Trollinger Ave.
