Obituary Online notes for Rev. Roy Lester MABE
The Rev. Roy Lester Mabe, 68, of Old Thomasville Rd., died at 11:15 am Thursday at High Point Regional Hospital following a brief illness.

Mr. Mabe was born March 12, 1922, in Stokes County, a son of Jim and Janie Mabe.

He had been a resident of the High Point area most of his life.

He was the founding minister of Christ Gospel Baptist Church where he served as minister for 19 years and was a member of Bethany Baptist Church in Thomasville.

On October 5, 1940, he married Beulah Cook, who survives of the home.

Surviving in addition to his wife are two daughters, Mrs. Bobby(Debbie) Wilson of 202 Kingston Rd., Thomasville and Mrs. Jamie(Sandy) Billings of Carthage; three sons, Ray D. Mabe of 3105 Corina Circle, Archdale, Bobby G. Mabe of Route 4 and Donnie R. Mabe of 862 Dogwood Circle: two sisters, Mrs. Beulah Martin of High Point and Mrs. Doris Donathan of Archdale; four brothers, Ralph W. Mabe of 1400 Valley Ridge Dr., Homer Mabe of 109 Chase Ave., Ted Mabe of Thomasville and Elmer Mabe of Seagrove; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandson.

Funeral will be at 3:30 pm Saturday at Christ Gospel Baptist Church by the Rev. Ray B. Vaughn and the Rev. Tim Huffman.

Burial will be in Floral Garden Memorial Park Cemetery.
