Burlington – Daisy Gerner Greeson, 102, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 22, 2023 at home surrounded by her family. 

She was born on May 17, 1920 in Guilford County to the late James Monroe and Lahla Inez Andrews Gerner, and was the wife of  68 years to the late Roy Vernon Greeson.

Daisy retired after 40 years from Kayser Roth Hosiery. She was a life time member of Brick Reformed Church where she served as treasurer of the Women’s Sunday School class.  She enjoyed cooking, and cooked for Brick Church annual suppers and events for her entire life. Daisy was an avid vegetable gardener and was known for her fried apple pies and chocolate pies.

She is survived by her sons, Roy Mack Greeson of Burlington, James Greeson and wife, Peggy of Gibsonville and Dr. Claude D. Greeson and wife, Linda of Burlington; 6 grandchildren, Kelli Greeson, Jackie (Eric) Smith, Kim (Brian) Williard, Kenneth Greeson, Dr. Todd (Sarah) Greeson and Kristi (Stephen) Griggs; 4 step grandchildren, Phyllis (David) Sharpe, Rhonda (Wayne) Smith, Sharon Holmes and Mike (Isabelle)  Elliott; numerous great grandchildren, step great grandchildren, great great grandchildren and step great great grandchildren.  

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, sisters, Nola Woodard, Elizabeth Greeson, Mozelle Gerner, Margaret Plummer and Mary Susan Allison; brothers, Tom, John, Charlie, George  and Connie Gerner.

The funeral service will be held on Sunday, February 26, 2023 at 2:00pm at Brick Reformed Church by Rev. Geoff LaLone and Rev. Kristin Gerner Vaughn with the burial to follow in the church cemetery. 

There will be a reception for family and friends in the church fellowship hall following the graveside service and other times the family will be at the residence.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Brick Reformed Church, c/o The Brick Church Memorial Association or the Brick Church Women’s Group, 3699 Brick Church Road, Burlington, NC 27215.
