Ronald “Ron” Wayne James
GRAHAM - Ronald “Ron” Wayne James, 73, of Graham, passed away at Alamance Regional Medical Center on Sunday, January 3, 2021.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Patsy Miller James; son, Blair James and wife Jenny; daughter, Jill Davis and husband Matt; granddaughters, Mattie Sarah, Kinsley, and Savannah; and brother, Gene James and wife Melda. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest Monroe James, Jr. and Jewel Nunnery James and grandson, Coy Blair James.
Ron worked as a finance manager at several dealerships in Burlington and Greensboro. Prior to his health issues, he was employed at Cars and Truckware as a sales associate.
Ron was a graduate of Graham High School and attended Chowan College. He was inducted into the City of Graham Sports Hall of Fame as a member of the 1965 Graham High School Football Team in 2003. He was past president of the Graham Jaycees, and was a veteran of the U. S. Army, First Calvary Division. Ron loved life and he especially loved people. He never met a stranger and could talk to anyone about anything or everything. His children and grandgirls were enjoyed and loved beyond measure. He also loved Duke basketball.
A graveside service will be conducted at Graham Memorial Park on Thursday, January 7, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. by Pastor David Jackson.
