Mr Gene Boyd James
January 4, 1951 ~ March 4, 2024 (age 73)

Gene Boyd James, 73, of Graham, NC passed away at his residence on Monday, March 4, 2024.

A native of Alamance County, he was the husband of Melda Kay Brown James, who survives and the son of Ernest James and Jewel Nunnery James, both deceased. He retired from Burlington Industries and also taught classes at Alamance Community College. Mr. James was a Mason, former Toastmaster, former President of the Graham Jaycees, former member of the New Directions, and former coach for recreational baseball teams. He was a member of Davis Street United Methodist Church where he served as a choir member and Sunday School Teacher.

In addition to his wife of their home, survivors include a step-daughter, Melaina Hall and husband Billy of Durham; step-son, Brian Bolden and wife P.J. of Punta Gorda, FL; sisters-in-law, Patsy James and Judy James; special nephew and niece, Blair and Jill; and three step-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Frank James and Ron James.

A memorial service will be conducted at the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Graham on Friday, March 8, 2024 at 3:30 p.m. The family will greet friends from 3:00 – 3:30 p.m. prior to the service.
